Declared value submission

I saw some older links that might have answered my question but they are dead.

I want to submit 4-5 Mattingly rookies. The declared value would be whatever I THINK it should be graded, yes? Am I basing the declaration prices on the latest eBay "PSA sold for" prices?

I havent submitted high dollar cards yet. Can I submit high dollar cards (over $500) with my free grades from renewing my Gold memberhsip?

TIA
Dan

I always put a declared value down of what it would cost me to replace the card in that raw condition.

No, I'd say ungraded "book" / "ebay" value would be the norm on any modern stuff.

I always use cost/replacement value for my submissions. Not what it may or may not hypothetically grade out as. If you get a 10 and are worried that the return insurance isn't going to cover you in the event of a loss, you might be able to contact PSA before the submission ships back to you and request that they add additional insurance.

I'm about to send in my renewal voucher so I've got the PSA submission guidelines handy.

As for the OP's question about can I submit high dollar cards (over $500) with my free grades from renewing my Gold membership?
The answer: submission is not valid for T3s, autographed cards (except those from the manufacturer dated 1998 or later), tickets, packs or items valued over $499.

As for what is declared value: PSA states "PSA requires you estimate a value for each item you submit based on its condition. The value will determine your service level and return shipping fees.
If you are not sure of the value, you may use the SMR price guide, other trade publications, auction results or contact a PSA authorized dealer.
