White whale found - not what you might think though

So 27 years ago I was going through some cards then put them all away except this one. I found it later in this condition. My cat had decided to use it as a toy. I kept the card just because it was nolan Ryan. I had forgotten all about it until going through some of my old cards. My cat died 16 years ago but now I have this really cool reminder. Also, I wonder how many weeks worth of allowance is in pic 2?

I know I spent months of allowance to buy the same stuff in pic 2
  • Thanks for sharing. I still have a few 1981 Donruss cards that my cat got a hold of in 1981 and have her teeth marks in them. I also learned not to keep stacks of cards on the floor as she liked to tackle them and slide around.

Those brown "storage bags" reminded me of how I used to store my 60's comics. Long since gone.image

I used my allowance to buy a 1987 Topps Baseball Wax Box for $15 in April/May 1987. Sitting next to it on the shelf were ten boxes of 1867/87 Fleer BKB for $15 each. image
