What do you make of this? Ebay seller Chrome 2014 Case Cancelled and Refund?

are we ok with this message? Is there any chance of a scam here i'm missing?

im going to refund you out of my pocket Today from my personal bank account so your money is not in limbo until the End of November. I am however going to leave your order in on the list so if there isn't a shortage which there might not be and can get his hands on the right amount your still in for $729.99...how does that sound? you have been more then kind to work with and prompt with responses and i just wanted to let you know im doing everything on my end to make sure it goes smooth. when i get a reply i can send the refund over through coming direct from me and your order is still in. if you wanted the case when released you would have to resubmit payment...please let me know your thoughts very sorry for any inconvenience plmk"

I heard the opposite, Topps is going to crank out Chrome production. I went to place my pre-order and my guy told me to hold off because he thinks the street price will be lower once it hits.

It sounds to me like the seller is more than accommodating. I do not understand your issue.

Looks like 2014 Topps Chrome FB is trending in the mid-$600's. Topps must have cranked the presses for this one.

I have to agree with TheSultanofSwat. Seller seems very accommodating. I would never have any issues with someone giving me a refund because they are not sure about getting the product. Are you worried that the prices are going to quickly go up and that he is taking advantage of you? Actually, now you can take your refund and buy a case a bit cheaper.

Brentandbecca calculated it as 11,150 hobby cases, plus all the retail (racks and blasters). This is beyond cranked.

I would take the refund and buy a case on ebay for $650 plus bonus ebay bucks. I did that yesterday and have my case in time for an after turkey break while I watch my Lions lose.

Despite the overproduction, I will be buying more Chrome at this price. Some people thought they overdid the parallel and inserts in 2013, but I think it added to the value break for each box. Last year almost all of the autos I pulled did decent on ebay and the sets I put together completely sold out.
