I was surprised to hear a add on the local radio for a Card Shop being opened because they are pretty rare now a days but if anyone here is in the area please be sure to check it out. I know I will:

Takes a lot of planning and fortitude to open a shop today. Having store signings is nice. Ya gotta have a lot of inventory at fair prices to compete with ebay and all the weekend warriors IMO.

This is great. It's right in my area. I'm looking forward to visiting and hopefully the inventory is better than some of the other shops in the area.

Isn't there a big show in your area - Gibralta?

I remember a guy commenting about owning a shop - having to buy 1993 UD by the case only to see it selling by the box at Gibralta cheaper than he paid direct or something like that? Or is this urban legend?

Yes, but I have been to one in years, so not sure how big they are nowadays. They also closing the one facility south of Detroit.

Wow, they are closing the Gibraltar in Taylor? At one time that show used to move the market for hockey cards. For Detroit area collectors it was like having a National every other weekend.

I'm heading to Detroit in early Dec and wanted hit up that show. I see there is a show Livonia the second week in Dec, are there any more that weekend?
