Just finished a 1953 Topps set! Pics added

I just purchased the last high number I needed for this beauty of a set. It's a 6.18 graded value on the registry and I am very pleased with it. Once I have the card in hand I'll post some scans of the major cards all of which are 6-6.5 grade. On to my 56 set now wonder how long that'll take??

WOW! What an accomplishment! Congrats and enjoy the set. What's your best guess as to how long it will take to finish the '56? Good Luck.

Awesome! Congrats on a great looking set. Also excited to see scans.

  • Once I get the last card in hand I'll scan the major cards. Right now I am 180 cards into a 56 set in NM+ I'm thinking I can finish it within a year also. I like to concentrate on two major sets at once to keep me from getting burned out on one specific set. I'm working on 56 and 54 at the moment. I'm looking to get a large lot of 54 commons in Psa 7 to jump start that set that's pretty pricey one by one!!

Congrats on your accomplishment. 6+ for that year means that youhave some really nice cards.
Hope to see some scans when you have the chance.

Great job. I have not yet finished a registry set, so I can only imagine the feeling upon getting that last card. I can't wait to see the scans.

Heck of a nice set to have, congrats on the achievement! One of my favorite in terms of design. I thought about embarking on this one in the past as well. Would love to see a panel scan of some of the top cards.

  • Nice accomplishment. I remember being pretty happy with a raw 73 set. I can only imagine how happy you are!
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

Congrats! It's a beast with those dark colored name boxes extending out to the border and showing wear so easily! The 1953 set, in my opinion, doesn't get as much love as it deserves.

  • Awesome. Love the set. Next one I plan on working on once I get the 55 topps done. 1 card short. I also did in the 6-7 grade. Good looking cards but more affordable.
  • I'm thinking its impossible to upload pictures to this site?!!?

I use photobucket. You can get a free account and can upload the pics to photobucket. Then they have on the right hand side of the screen where you see the pics the URL info already coded and you can just copy and paste it into your replies. I'm not much of a tech guy myself so don't know if I completely explained that right but that should work if you want to try it. Would love to see the pics. Or you can email them to me and I will host them for you. I will pm you my email addy if you want to do that.
