I have been slowly selling off odds and ends I have picked up over the years. The 1873 open 3 shield nickel below is a beautiful coin with tons of detail. Most people who look at it think it is XF details. The bad thing is it has damage on the obverse and reverse which is a shame for such a nice looking coin. I think this coin would make a great addition to a type set for someone who wants to be able to really see the detail and design of the coin but is not looking to pay XF money. Numismatic News lists an XF 1873 open 3 at $80.
