Let me tell what other possibility it is:

item was delivered and was not scanned. Some customers know this by checking tracking, and if they see a package that shows "not yet delivered " and they have it, and want to cheat the system, they can say they never got it.

Ebay unfortunately will side with the buyer in this case as it shows lost in transit, not yet delivered!!!!

Yes, there are a lot of honest people out there that would tell you, but I can assure there are several that would not.

I expect the buyer is saying that he hasn't gotten it yet.

I too had one just like that a month ago...not an expensive item but was concerned anyway.

Wrote to the buyer and asked if he had received it yet as it showed it "was out for delivery".

He wrote back, "yet, got it just fine".

PS: still out for delivery as far as I know....lol

I can top that black hole.

Same thing happened to me two years ago, but in that particular case...

Purchased in April... arrived in September!

PS- I should add that it wasn't through any fault of the seller's, either- we had tracking info just like that- but it hung "in transit" for months. Long after we gave up and the seller refunded my money, the coin mysteriously appeared, five months later, with the packaging no worse for wear. I sent the coin back to the seller since I didn't need it anymore and didn't feel like purchasing it a second time.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

About a year ago, a very heavy package containing copper wheat cents was due east but went west. The poor old lady couldn't lift it. The postmaster called me from out in Idaho or somewhere to tell me they don't know how it ended up there , or how this old lady came to call them to tell them it was too heavy to lift and they had to go back to pick it up, but they would send it on to the address back east.

I realized then that life in America was back to normal.
