Baseball Game Video Archive Question

On April 16, 1991 at Candlestick Park, in the bottom of the 1st inning, Ramon Martinez pitched a ball, Will Clark hit it, and I caught it. (Side Note: about 2 minutes after catching the ball, I was informed that I was in the wrong seats and should be on other side of aisle.)

This was cool, because I'm a Dodger fan, and while I have at times had a blood feud with the Giants, they have over the course of years had a few players that I couldn't help but love. Will Clark was one of those players. His swing inspired me to start hitting lefty...at least in Wiffle Ball.

I, of course, still have the ball and ticket and want to make a little display. I'd like to try to get the video of that game, or at least the first inning to see if I may be able to capture a still frame of my magic moment. However, I'm not having any luck finding a video archive online that goes back that far.

I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.

I'd surely have to put together a nice little care package for anyone that could secure that for me.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Great question, I wonder if either team or even the league would have that archived?

Cool story and idea. Sorry I can't help other than to support the post of contacting the team. Please update us if you have any luck

Unfortunately, for something that old, you're probably going to need to dance on the sketchy side of the tracks. Basically, you need to find a sports video trading site where people swap DVDs (or whatever) of games. They're tough to break into, usually people will only trade with you so if you've got nothing to offer, you're out of luck. The game you're looking for is pretty obscure so even those sites may be no help. Your best bet is maybe to contact the teams or TV stations directly and see if they can help.

When I last looked into this, I was looking for a Padres game from 1998 and I could have ordered the game I wanted but it was something like $125 so I declined.
