What Will This Card Grade? 2007-08 UD Black Lebron James Pathc Thick Card Auto - Opinions Requested

I am about to renew my PSA membership and was considering submitting the following card in for grading using my renewal coupons: 2007-08 Upper Deck Black Lebron James Auto Patch 2/25. From the naked eye, the card looks flawless. When I scanned the card to get a closer look, I found the upper right corner did not look right. I used a loupe to investiage further and found the edge on that corner seems to be "coming up" a tiny bit. So it is not a traditional "dinged" corner issue. Rather, it appears the edge simply was not cut perfect and it is looks funny. This is a "thick" card. I originally wanted to strike a 10 here, but I am now very concerned....but should I be? Does this have any chance as a 10? Does this flaw matter? Opinions requested by those who often submit thick modern auto cards to PSA for grading on the likely grade it would receive. I know this is not an exact science. I really do not want to pull at 7 or 8. I actually want to avoid a 9, but would live with it. Meatloaf

I'd say 8. That corner will seriously ding you and there seems to be a bit of edge frosting too. As a rule of thumb it is extremely difficult to get thick cards to grade gem. Whereas with modern regular thickness card I've found about 50% or more are submission candidates, with thick cards it is more like 5-10%%. They're packed tighter with more surface area and the edges of the jersey window are very easily compromised by other touching cards. Still an amazing card nonetheless!

Sick card! Unfortunately not a 10 and probably not a 9. But I'd be willing to take it off your hands.
  • I'm also going with an 8. Nice card.

Agree with the 8's. May not be adding any value to grade but cool card for sure.
  • TY for the opinions. Sigh...you confirmed my predictions as well...likely an 8 grade. Oh well...
  • I agree w an 8 but I actually think it would bring a slight premium as those Black cards are brutal on chipping and surface flaws. That's definitely one of the better one's I've seen over the years
