What would cause this toning on a 2011 Reverse PR SAE?

Bought the coin this way as part of a large batch of reverse proofs. Purchased it perhaps 6-12 months after release and it was already toned and holdered.
Obverse is tone free. Coloration is flat head on but a fairly vibrant blue/gold when tilted to the light.
No complaints, just curious.

....and face down the 1001 Spam arrows from the forum patrol..........no way!
Also more than likely, contamination from handling.
That's my best guess.

<< <i>I opened a sealed U.S. Mint box once and a similar coin was inside. I believe it was caused by the felt insert in the box. The coin was laying on that in the box.

Sounds plausible.....thank you Ian and Lyds.

Better to fend off a hundred nearsighted coin nerds than to ignore a toned SAE collector!

Come to think of it, weren't these sets notorious for being delivered with the coins out of their air tights??

Now that I recall, my mint order did arrive with the coins loose from the inserts (not this one).
It needs a dip! I would dip it until that came off, put it back in original USM Capsule / Box (this is what CDN tracks anyhow) and not spend any more money on slabbing it.
