TPGs need more consistency

About two years ago I submitted three 1971 Topps Greatest Moments cards to (a well known third party grader). Two of them came back MC due to the dreaded slope that runs up along the upper right corner as you look at the card in it's landscaped position (veterans of this set know what I mean). This made me pretty surprised to see this lovely 7.5 Yaz on eBay today. You can clearly see that card wouldn't even fit the holder if the lip of the holder ran all the way across the top. All I'm asking is if you will grade some of these cards with this cut defect, you should grade all of them.

I agree, but don't hold your breath.

I think your only realistic option is to contact the TPG in question and let them know your concern and have card(s) regraded.

Simply too many obscure issues out there and from what I have heard, not much time gets spent looking at each card.

There is no precise definition of miscut. It is at the discretion of each grader. Cards that have a portion of another card showing will always come back MC, but other issues are more subjective and are likely to grade on re-sub. I don't like it either, but that is the reality.

if the grade doesn't fit, you must resubmit.

Seems like the Frank Thomas Pan Am Games problems with the MC designation. Doubt they will change their mind
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Same thing happens with the 1957 Sweetule Blue Back Joe Louis cards. Unfortunately you have to rely on luck of getting the right grader among a majority who otherwise don't grade due to MC. Good luck on the resubmit!
