Friday Night Rips - Whatcha Got?

Wife and kid are out of town, time to put on some ALCS and rip some packs. A little vintage and a little modern tonight. Gonna start with these:

Then I've got a jumbo box of 2014 Bowman to try to finish this year's set (about 80% there so far) and if I get to it, a case of 2014 Topps Heritage blasters to try to finish that set as well (50% so far).

Will post results in a little bit. Anyone else ripping anything fun tonight?

I have a huge bag of popcorn and a soda, waiting for results. Speaking of popcorn, I haven't seen popcorn girl in a long while image

Awesome!!! I'm halfway thru a box of 94 Playoff FB that I started earlier today. Not quite as exciting as this. Especially since half the packs are stuck together bricks. Freezer for a few minutes is releasing some of them. Should finish box 1 tonite, then either start box 2, or go to 08 Goudey.

Best of luck with your rips. I find Heritage is a very fun rip, but not very profitable, but I keep on buying it.

    Enjoy.

Edit to add: really looking forward to that 70 pack!!

Can't wait! Especially the vintage. My wife works tonight, so I have all 3 kids... if anything gets ripped, it'll have to be another box of Topps TMNT cards (not too exciting). Good luck with all, I'll be watching.

Good luck! I've been working my way through an '89 UD box I won in the Mike Kelley fundraiser auction. No Griffey yet. It will probably take me another week to get through it. Just not enough time.

Here are some 78s. Pretty bad diamond cut on these. The Murphy RC was on top and was a little dinged up.

And here is the 1970 pack. This one had pretty clearly been opened based on the different cuts....and the fact that the cards came from three different series. Oh well, it was a fun rip, the Stottlemyre card isn't bad. I always thought it was funny that Piniella's rookie card was a '64, yet somehow he's an all-star rookie in '70.

Fast-forward 44 years, and on to the Bowman box.

And here are the hits from the Bowman jumbo. A couple good ones, the Bryant green refractor was /75. The Yohander Mendez blue refractor auto is pretty nice. Finished my base set too.

Thanks for letting us know Popcorn Girl is still interested in sports cards. I was beginning to worry. image

Thanks for sharing. Too bad about the 1970 Topps pack. That really sucks.

I hate that feeling of opening a resealed pack.

Loving the nod to 89 with the logo on a couple of those Bowman's.

Who did you purchase the 1970 pack from?

Thanks for sharing the rip results. Lots of star power in the 78 and 79 packs.

I pulled the '70 pack from a card chase box, so luckily it wasn't any sort of major investment. I have the rip of the box and the pack on video, so we'll see what happens.
