I live about 10 minutes away - okay, 30 minutes in traffic. I am going to try and sneak in for a few hours on Friday afternoon.

I went for a few hours today. Lots of set-building tables and I managed to pick up some 51 Bowman BB and some 1986 unopened. Will be back Sunday to see if I can find anymore deals. I spent two hours and made it about halfway through. Not much vintage unopened; mostly modern unopened.

I was there from 2 - 5:30 today. Seemed to be less card dealers set up this time, more card and autograph supplies. Very little vintage wax.

Also very little foot traffic, although it was nasty weather. Can't beat the admission price.

I got some nice 1963 Topps Football commons, semis and teams for $1 each. Went a long way towards finishing that set. Also got some 71 Kelloggs baseball commons, not cracked, for $1 each.

Big purchase of the day - 5 1971 Bazooka Baseball Boxes, apparently shrink wrapped in the early 80's, gum still inside. These are cleaner than when they were on the store shelves! I might have to put the set together with this starter lot. Don't ask me what I paid!

OK - it was $90 for the lot.

I picked up a nice looking 86 Donruss Wax Box for $20, and I saw a few 85 Topps BB Wax boxes that looked legit go for $90 each.

My pickup of the day was an 1971-72 OPC Hockey Checklist #111 for 33 cents. It's marked. image

Some shocking prices (on the low side):

    1991 Stadium Club Series 1 and 2 - $2

    1983 Topps Sandberg Psa 8 - nicely centered - $5

1993 Upper Deck BB Factory Set - $8

    1994 Upper Deck Electric Diamond A. Rod RC PSA 9 - $5

I saw the 1985 Topps boxes as well. Didn't pull the trigger though.

Nice pickup on the Bazooka boxes. Those look sharp.

Nice deal on those Bazooka boxes! always loved them.
Hard to believe how cheap 1991 Topps Stadium Club is. It's a really nice set. I have one and it doesn't really fit my collection but it's not worth selling. I remember when it came out - the first 'super premium' product.

  • I hit up the show. I go to it regularly. I spent the second half of Saturday's hours there and it was very dead. I was a bit surprised how few people were there. Even the autograph guests, which is what a lot of people come for, didn't seem to attract more than a couple of dozen people per signer at that time of the day. That said, I found one very specific card I had on my list that has been very elusive and is not very common. So I was happy to come away with that as well as a bunch of cheap singles of a few of the baseball players I collect as well as cheap supplies. Supplies are always cheaper at shows than online or in an actual store. I always enjoy the show though. Good to catch up with some of the dealers I see show in and show out for years.

I was surprised how little traffic there was too on Sunday. Friday was more busy and no autograph lines.

Next April I'lll have a new wish list so looking forward to going again.

I ended up going there both weekend days and spent way too much. Got some great deals though and started the process of a blockbuster (for me) trade.
