Bought a huge Don Mattingly lot to jump start my raw set! (scan heavy)

Last week I bought a big lot to get my raw Mattingly playing years master set kicked off. No duplicates at all with around 1550 items total. I counted 255 post career items with the rest being from his playing days. Of the 1300 or so playing years items, there are 25 discs, about 40 stickers, 15 oversized items like "super cards" and uncut panels, 6 metal coins, 2 Gallery of Champions mini metal cards, and one button! (1984 Fun Foods) There rest are traditional trading cards. Also there are 3 certified autos in the lot, but only one (Donruss Dominator) is from his playing years.
Been wanting to get this project off the ground for a while now, but it was hard finding the right lot to start off with. Piecing something like this together would have been a nightmare in a few ways. The shipping alone would've killed me! The biggest lots I could find only had 200-500 cards with TOO MANY DOUBLES, so this one is just what I was looking for.
Now I have to see what I have, what I need etc. I'm going to work off this checklist which I found via Google. At a glance it looks pretty solid. I'm looking forward to digging in and hunting down the remaining cards!
The lot is a bit overwhelming, but I tried to show a little bit of everything in the pics, enjoy!
All 6 of his MLB RC's along with a 88 World of Baseball, and a 91 DS
4 XRC's, both Dominators, Donruss Elite, and 87 Boardwalk and Baseball "no slash" variation.
The seller had told me he would include a '90 Topps TV NYY team set Mattingly #25 in the lot. A day or two before he shipped it, he texts me saying that he didn't have any more raw copies but he would include a PSA graded copy instead to which I of course agreed. I was stoked to see the grade. I've since checked the pop reports, and only 6 are graded, however 4 of those are 10's. Not really sure what it would sell for, but I remember a PSA 6 selling a while back, and if memory serves it went in the $30 range. If someone could look up and post any VCP info on this card I'd appreciate it.
4 refractors, also UD special edition gold, 94 SP F/X die cut red holo, but the 2 I'm most psyched about in this pic are the 93 Leaf, and 95 Donruss promos. The two are hard to find and each usually sells in the $30-40 range.
A ton of inserts and parallels. Serial #'d cards, first day issues, members only, chrome refractors, press proofs, artist proofs including the 95 Sports Flix AP, and the 95 Pinnacle UC3 AP which (as I understand it) are on the tougher side. A lot of cards have 3 or 4 variations. The most I found of a single card was 6 of a Topps Stadium Club card which is pictured below.
There are 28 Star Mattingly sub sets each containing between 9 and 12 cards, plus 5 of the easy (cheap) Star promos. I'm not that well versed in these, but I think this is a near complete run of Donnie's Star cards. I'll have to do some research, but I think the only ones I would need are a handful of tough (expensive) promos that are each limited to 100 copies.
Some of the Discs, along with some over/undersized items.
As i said earlier, just 250 of the cards are post career cards. Of those, just over 50 of them are serial #'d.
I think the only significant post career cards included are the top 3 cards in the below scans. The 2005 Zenith Gold Artists Proof is #'d to 50 and the only one that sold in the last 90 days on ebay went for $35. I never knew of it's existence before yesterday. The autos are each in the $30-40 range. The rest I would expect to sell in the $3-10 range depending on the card, but, I haven't looked many of them up. Here are the fronts of some and the backs of others.
Last, (and least) here are some of the non serial #'d post career cards. I thought the one on top with "Donnie" misspelled "Donny" was funny! Come on Fleer, you're better than that!
Thanks for looking!

<< <i>Nice group of Donnie Baseball. Be sure to pick up a 90's Flair die-cut glove. >>
There's one in there. Are they tough? I didn't think they were but the 90's stuff isn't my forte.
Sweet.

Thanks, but I know a few Mattingly Collectors that would use my collection to wipe their asses!

I am not sure of VCP, but I have a 1990 Topps TV Yankees Don Mattingly PSA 10 as well and recall paying ~$50 a little over a year ago. I wish I could find a Cubs Greg Maddux in a PSA 10, as I can only manage a PSA 9 which is a self submission.

Possibly
Incredible run of Mattingly's! Congrats on the pickup.

From experience I can tell you the 95 Finest Refractor will grade 7-8 and the 94 Finest Refractor a definite 9. Each of these will sell raw in the $20-$40 range, with a premium for star refractors like Mattingly that go 9 or higher ($65++).
Not as much experience with Bowman refractors but the 95 looks well centered and should go at least 9.

What year is the "Elite Series" card? I want to say 1991?

1993
Maddux thanks for the info. Did you happen to get it from 4SC? I remember they sold at least one of the tens last year, but can't remember the price. Saucy, It's nice to know that some of these would grade well, but these bad boys are destined for a binder! Lee out of curiosity what would you consider handsomely? I paid $775 off Ebay with Paypal F&F for the lot. You're usually on the money with things like this, so I'm interested in getting your honest opinion. Thanks.
Vin
Looking at what's pictured I had the number $700 in my head as a bargain price, but if you're saying it has a lot of the other oddball stuff like variations and regional issues then $775 is a no-brainer. I know you're not looking to sell, but if you did a 'collection break' on ebay and started every card at .99 auction I would expect you to get around double what you paid give or take. Hell, the breakup value on just what you scanned in terms of singles is easily a grand. And I'd be willing to bet that some of the stuff not pictured could bring good prices since a few of the oddballs and 90s inserts haven't hit ebay in a while and demand is pent up. Of course you can even further maximize by grading anything low pop that has a shot at a 10.
And think about how much you saved on shipping fees alone if you were going to buy these one by one as they come up on ebay.
So in summary- you did good.

Yes, The Bracken Collection, which I believe he retired is of the Baseball legend Nolan Ryan and was at one time at 100% complete. Well it was 99.95% complete.
You can see it here: The Bracken Collection of Complete Nolan Ryan By the way, no disrespect to your Don Mattingly cards, as they are very nice. He was amazing when he played for the Yankees.
Later, Paul.
