    Doug-- everytime I see that card of yours I have to say: that card is such a rare freak. How many 1s of any 50's Mantle look like that? The 59 especially is always so faded on front. Not that one. Awesome card.

    It's the '59's pinhole that does it. I once had a hope of getting a similar "1" '52 Topps Mantle for a song due to a pinhole causing the low grade, but the market was as smart as I was, and it didn't go for as cheap as you'd have expected from the grade.

    OTOH, I really have no use paying $$$ for a '52 Mick that looks like it's been through spokes, a wash cycle and been buried in the backyard for a time. image
