    C: Jeff Clement
    1B: Willie McCovey
    2B Joe Morgan
    SS: Tony Womack
3B: Don Mattingly (he played 3 games at third, so I'm counting him! image )
    RF: Tony Gwynn
    LF: Barry Bonds
    CF: Ken Griffey Jr.
    DH: Jim Thome

    Batting Order:
    1. Tony Gwynn
    2. Don Mattingly
    3. Ken Griffey Jr.
    4. Barry Bonds
    5. Willie McCovey
    6. Joe Morgan
    7. Jim Thomes
    8. Jeff Clement
    9. Tony Womack

I was also thinking of moving Bonds down to 6th and moving McCovey and Morgan up one slot.

I would put Rod Carew over Joe Morgan at second.

I'm not sure if the OP means LH batter or LH thrower. But, if he means LH thrower, then Joe Morgan wouldn't qualify. If he means LH batter then you should probably exchange Jeff Clement for Yogi Berra or another HOFer. image

The OP forgot to consider the ambidextrous player. Since Joe Morgan hit as a lefty I would leave him in.

Great point! Yogi wouldn't qualify under the 50 year or less rule...

So I'm thinking Joe Mauer? The best catchers I can think of off the top of my head (forgive me if I miss one) who has played over the past 50 years are:

    (not in any order)
    Mike Piazza
    Ivan Rodriguez
    Joe Mauer
    Carlton Fisk
    Gary Carter
    Johnny Bench

I think they're all righty except Mauer..

Indeed he does. Final game was on May 9, 1965!

IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED
