eBay Now Limiting Number of Snipes?

I've heard a lot of rumbling about eBay setting up their own sniping service (fee based of course). Also had seen problems with my sniping program over the past few weeks. I use bidding scheduler. Never had a problem over the years with it until lately. Today I got a message that eBay is now limiting snipes to maximum of 5 ending at the same time. The strange thing is this message only appeared when I tried to edit an existing snipe and not when I entered over a dozen via adding item number and max bid amount. If this is truly going into effect, I wouldn't want to have a $0.99 set break happening right now.
Has anyone else seen this warning message with their sniping program?

Did you get the message regarding snipe limitations from Bidding Scheduler?
I've read of others having issues too so yes, there must be something going on.
After reading, I just tried to add a snipe thru Gavel Snipe and couldn't - the screen goes white and that's it.
I didn't have any troubles w/ gavelsnipe, today or other days.
If there is some sort of system change in place within ebay that prevents a certain number for some people, I wonder if it is possible to circumvent by using 2 different snipe accounts that have lead times off-set by a second or two? Obviously not bidding on the same item, but more like set a few items through gavelsnipe and a few through gixen, or something like that?

<< <i>What does it specifically mean if they were to limit one to a maxim of 5 snipes ending at the same time ? How would that work ? >>
Just speculating - if a seller has a hundred items all finishing at the same time, you could only snipe 5 - the other items you wanted would have to be bid on early.
More than likely, ebay will sell you as many snipes as you want just to keep the share holders happy.
I'm wondering if ebay goes to the way every other auction operates - they don't close an auction until all bids are done.
For example, if there is a snipe - then the auction stays open for another 15-20 seconds allowing time for another bidder to put in a higher bid.
wondering if this is going to fire or not? I really want this card but don't want to stay up until midnight to hand bid..

I wondered if snipes were working or not. Its possible I found 1 auction that everybody missed, but surely not 2.
I actually kinda feel bad for the sellers
<< <i>I absolutly "stole" 2 cards today. I havent even bid on anything in months. I was sure that my bids were low-ball.

its because auctions are a dead bread the only thing auctions are good for now a days on ebay is to get a steal, bargain, or something of value/worth for next to nothing......its a fact because if auctions weren't tanking then they wouldn't be having listing sales every darn weekend giving 10,000 plus free auction listings away we are now in the time to take advantage of AUCTIONS and get stuff that would have sold FOR MUCH MORE back in the day (when i say back in the day im referring to about 10-12 years ago the hay day of ebay auctions) oh and dont feel sorry for the seller they obviously listen to stupid ebay and started there auctions low and probably had free shipping (that is what ebay tells everyone to do to get so called action going on there listing...thing is ebay is still living in the past when auctions were king)....i to cant believe some of the great items i have gotten in the past few years to add to my personal collections at give away prices.....my advice to anyone using auctions always list it at the lowest you are wanting for the item.....i do think some people are wisening up and seeing that listing something at .99 and hoping for a bidding war (unless its ULTRA ULTRA rare) is NOT going to happen you will be lucky to get 1 or 2 bids at the most these days so they are starting there listings higher which is good for all (at least i think so) also if you look at ebays traffic to its site now compared to about 5-10 years ago its has gone DOWN by almost HALF!

This news just hit. EBAY folding and going with the activist shareholder's plan to split EBAY and PayPal into two separate independent companies.

I wonder if that means eBay will eventually allow non-PP payment methods.
