Heres an Idea for PCGS

So many AMAZING coins go through PCGS every year. Many are professionally photographed by Phil Arnold.
I don't know about you, but I would personally buy a "year in review" book from PCGS. The book would feature coins that went through PCGS for the calendar year, some are rarities, and some are just gorgeous coins. There would be information about the coin on it's page. This book idea is actually similar to the calendar PCGS sends out for free, but this would have more than just 12 coins, it would be only exclusive to the year in review and it would feature many more coins and would be educating, as well as fun for those in which their coins make the book.
anyway.....I'd buy it.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
aware of the calendar; I would purchase one for my office. I hope
our host looks into this and acts favorably.
On the other hand, I personally like your idea.
<< <i>While I like that idea of a book showing the highlights that go through PCGS, there are several folks that are very quiet about there holdings and what they have. If PCGS shows them then those folks that don't want their holdings known would not send them for grading.
On the other hand, I personally like your idea. >>
I don't think PCGS would connect the coin with the owner. The information is public already through pop reports, the images are just another form of the same data.
Sounds like an interesting book, it's not for me, but maybe for others.

I like the idea

<< <i>I would take that money spent on the book and instead put it toward CoinFacts membership instead. Get all the pics I want plus other valuable data. >>
Okay, I'll take my idea a step further: if you have a coinfacts membership, you get 15% off the book. If you have a 1 year CF membership it's 50% off.

What if David Hall would personally autograph 10 or 20? What would those be worth?
They would be a couple of his favorite coins from the year, his most challenging coin/s to shoot, and maybe showcasing a couple coins that change so much when the light is moved or the coin is tilted.

<< <i>This book would be interesting especially if they had a best of the best for the year section. We always have coinfacts but having a nice hardcover book is tactile and would be collectible by year. I think the idea about part of the proceeds going to the YN program would be very beneficial. I would also recommend that every YN that joins PCGS be given a special edition book from the year they joined with a nice note and signature done by hand by Don, this would be exciting to them and help drive their interest. Each image in the book could have a QR code so it could be scanned and bring the viewer right to the coin in coinfacts so that the viewer could get even more information on the coins they are looking at. PCGS would also be able to use this as a way to increase coinfacts membership by offering a discount to those that buy the book. For members who purchase they could give one free submission a year as a bonus. >>
I like the way you think. I will say however, my idea was that the "PCGS Yearbook" for lack of a better name, would need to be affordable. I think anything above $50 and the sales will drop off.

<< <i>Bodin any book that has a limited production in hardcover with full color is going to be more than $50.00. For this book to be done in a quality manner final cost would be most likely $100.00 +. I think that many members here would pay that for a quality book with color images. For many it could be used as a tax deduction with a very small amount of creative accounting. PCGS could do something similar to what Rick Snow did and start a kickstarter project to determine the overall interest in the book. This would also give those interested in the book a way to be even more involved. PCGS could have the YN volunteer to help with picking out images, editing and production of text to get them involved also. >>
You're totally right about the $$$. I had just woke up here in LA when I did my first post.
Lets call that a Pre-Coffee Post. or I was on PCP.

or modified Bodin's idea - a web page. It could highlight and promote the TrueView Service, and sub-promote the PCGS brand.

So, going off this, would the web page be free to all, or would it only be a part of the Coin Facts site?
I prefer the book. It would be neat to have the volumes throughout the years.

another idea is to have a "stars of coin facts" yearly book for those subscribing to a year straight of coin facts.

<< <i>Some people might have problems with coins that get chosen for the book, and later get upgraded at PCGS or at NGC. Makes for a tricky project. >>
I don't think it would bother any one if coins upgrade.

Ha!
It would sure as heck bother me if I had recently sold it after five failed upgrade attempts.

I think it's easier to sell an upgraded coin if the world does not know that it was upgraded. Just my opinion, of course.

True. Also, get rid of coin facts. More people have access to CF than would own this book at $100+ (estimated)
