1989 Fleer Baseball Unopened Rack Case (Ripken FF error)

I won the above item on eBay and have asked the seller to include a brief note stating that the case is an "error" case, since it is impossible to tell from the outside of the case. I am not planning on opening it, but wanted to have the statement of the seller to use in case I sell it intact. Thus far, the seller has not responded to my question. What do you think I should do if he doesn't respond or will not honor my request?

Thanks for any advice you may have.

Do a search and you can find a thread with a listing of 7-8 codes, unless of course someone here knows off the top of their head.

Sounds like it is not an Error case, based on the info some of you gave me. I will ask to be let out of the purchase since he clearly listed it as such, and I never would have bid on it otherwise.

I'd like to know where that code is on the box. I won a rack case a couple months ago that I got six FF cards out of. There is no stamp on the box. There's printing with numbers on it from the corrugated manufacturing but it gives no clue to when it was made, it's just a product number. I've never seen one on Ebay with one either.

You would have to be talking about either a spray or roll stamp added at the corrugated supplier which is a separate process (Unlikely - no reason to put one on at that point) or at Fleer (Really unlikely -not a perishable product and not one that needs to have production tracking for isolating defects).

I still have the outer box and I studied it over and over. No date stamp or anything but I will look again when I'm back home.
