What is the best way to sell gradeable cards?

Let's say a person (and I'm sure there are a few out there - wink) has 1,000+ cards that they've accumulated all ready to be graded in card savers, but they would rather not go through the cost etc., what would be the best way to sell these cards? If it matters, cards would be anything vintage early 60's to mid 80's of Baseball and Football.
To get top dollar/value for the cards, wouldn't it have to be a face to face transaction? No chance someone would purchase stacks of cards from just pictures/scans for a fair price would they?

<< <i>I would think that as long as you have good scans and there is a decent market for the cards in question, I don't see why that would need to be a face-to-face transaction. >>
I completely agree with this.

PS... I am always looking for SF Giants, Angels, and the afore mentioned HOF guys. PM sent
To be honest, no direction, but...
1966-69 Topps EX+
1975 minis NrMt Kelloggs PSA 9
All Topps Heritage-Master Sets
<< <i>If you're talking about large quanitites then it could be difficult. I don't think there is a different answer to each card you have, but there are going to be better ways to handle certain years. I collect graded and raw 50-80's HOF exclusively. I really don't care about that common you may have that might be the only potential PSA 9 out there. Others would pay top dollar at a chance to send it in for a pop. You could sell team lots, minor reqional stars, individual stars, sell lots by years, sell years by condition, etc.

That is basically my point...near impossible to scan thousands of cards...at that point might as well send them in to PSA after easy electronic submission.
