Any Spanish coin experts aqui ?

I put in a "holding" bid in the latest Heritage auction and then forgot about it...found out today that I won the coin, a 960 reis dated 1812 struck over a coin dated 1809.

I hadn't really given it much of a look before, but having won the coin, my interest was piqued image and I finally got around to giving the pics a proper investigation.

To my happy surprise, the 960 is struck over a Spanish 8 reales (1809) with much of the important undertype still identifiable...except the mint mark.

But, it seems to me that the most likely or only likely mm for 1809 would be S (Seville)....can anyone here confirm or deny that this is so...?

I flipped the images to orient the under type right side up.

To explain, location of SP in HISPAN on the reverse across from REX and next to 8 points to one of the mainland mints. And only Sevilla used that style of 9 in the date, if I'm not mistaken.

    Thanks TwoK !
I believe I am reading HISPANIARUM . REX on the rev. and what looks like CN below the 8 for the assayer
On the obv....FERDINANDUS left of the bust, VII.DEI.G. on the right and the date, 1809. All pretty clearly visible...

I have a very abrevriated history of the coinage of Spain during the period before, during and after Napoleons occupation...super interesting !
Another fascinating series to collect... directly connected to Spanish colonial coins, and then to the many great Independence coins of the New World
that resulted from Spain losing it's ability to rule in the Americas.
