BCCG grading starts at 5. A 7 is the equivalent of a BVG/PSA/SGC 2, but altered cards are also more likely to slip through. BCCG is the absolute dumbest thing any of the major TPG's have implemented. It is nothing but a cash grab by Beckett that allows snake oil salesmen to target uneducated buyers.... and I like Beckett.

Thanks to everyone who replied. That is a really strange thing Beckett did - not sure why they would need that.
Looking at the card, it doesn't looked trimmed, but yeah chances are PSA may have already rejected it for something - bleached maybe?
Not saying I want to pursue this, but I think its kind of priced at a PSA 2 level (I recently passed on a 5 MC for 390, but I really thought about it).....
Anyone see visual evidence this wouldn't cross? Thanks Again.
Thanks guys. I may think some more on this then....
What still bothers me:
-The seller isn't well reviewed
-With a relatively rare and relatively in demand card, if I wanted to sell it, I'd rather have it in a legit holder with a low grade unless that wasn't an option
-it's possible this has never been sent to PSA or SGC, or it may have been cracked out of a low grade holder, or it may have been rejected - I guess it comes down to how much of a gamble to take. (side note - once I saw a Nagursgi in a SGC 2 holder and thought wow that may cross to a 3, but I didn't gamble. Months later when looking at other things in a one day VCP subscription, wouldn't you know I found the card in a PSA 1.5 holder in a sale several years prior)

I've purchased from them and not had any issues except slow shipping, looking at their volume there are bound to be some negatives.
Whoever owned the card previously may have just wanted it authenticated cheaply, quickly and to show a high number grade. I don't know how well BCCG checks for alterations, but every card I've had in one of their holders was at least authentic and have not heard of any issues crossing over unless you're expecting a similar number grade. It's always a gamble, but you have better odds on getting it into a top 3 TPG holder than buying raw, IMHO.
Thanks LarkinCollector - unless it moves up, I'll probably put in a late bid - one of those bids where your not sure if you want to win or lose... 48 Leaf has a trimming issue, but given the card has 4 soft corners, that seems pretty unlikely..... I'll come back and post if anything interesting happens.

Couldn't have said it better.

<< <i>Have to think other companies may have already rejected grading it, right? >>
Yup, there is usually a reason why cards that aren't in the Top 3 TPG slabs reside in lesser ones.
I still believe Beckett devalued their BGS/BVG brand and caused confusion with this weird BCCG offering and grading scale.
I know some people here have had success crossing BCCG cards into Top 3 TPG slabs, but as a collector I won't touch BCCG.
Snorto~

Yup, my guess too.

+1, if you pay attention to the grade (VG or better in this case) and not the number, most BCCGs will cross.
