The NFL now stands for National Flag League...these ticky-tack illegal contact penalties are getting ridiculous. Don't like it at all.

    Yes, but a lot of the penalties I'm seeing are being called on the OFFENSE, negating nice plays.

    Vikings Rams game had WAY too many flags on both offense and defense. Seemed to me like a lot of borderline calls.

    Perhaps as the season goes on the officials won't be so flag happy.

    The NFL is doing the best it can to absolutely ruin the game.

    The Referees and the flags are a JOKE

    Football is not the same anymore. These players know what the risks are and make good money. I am tired of all the bs calls. Let them play football. Next it will be like flag football with no contact just wait and see. Its not that far off already. With any job comes risk and the player's make enough money to cover the risk so let them play!!!!

    Agreed. Long passes make for better TV ratings. People get bored with 3-4 yard grind-it-out run plays anymore; unless it's an INT, 90 yard kickoff return for a TD or something similar a run game is a snooze on TV.

    Also, the league is getting concerned about potential lawsuits down the line for guys who end up drooling veggies years later from too many head shots...that's part of this tightening down on contact as well.
