What do you call it...

When you submit a card and instead of getting it instantly slabbed, it comes back to you with the grade on it and you have the choice of whether to get it slabbed or not? I've never done it before. Do PSA and Beckett both do it?

  • Could you give a little more detail behind this question? I've never heard of PSA or Beckett grading a card without slabbing it. Maybe they do and if so someone else needs to chime in.
  • You might be thinking of Beckett's Raw Card Review. I think they're the only major graders that do it.

And the RCR grade is not guaranteed, it's just an estimate. Card could RCR 9.5, but then grade out 9 (Don't ask me why.)
  • Glad you guys chimed in, because I was definitely out of the loop.

I have also heard that the "Raw card review" stickers are being copied and fakes are being put on the bay....dont have confirmation of it yet but I have two separate people that have told me about it already....makes sense since sticker are a lot easier to copy than the holder
