FS: RARE 1944 Debut Charlie Osgood Single Signed OMLB

Notorious non-signer... One of the toughest Brooklyn Dodgers signature ever. Got this signed TTM in May of 2012, he passed away January 23, 2014. I listed it on eBay with a starting bid of $14.99: eBay Listing - Charlie Osgood signed OMLB

Given that he appeared in one game in his career, I doubt that he had many opportunities to sign. What was his objection to signing? I'd love to know the story.
  • Friendly bump.. Less than 24 hours! Ball's value is probably close to $500 and price is currently under $30!

Jim Stinson wasn't sure of Osgood's reluctance to sign, but may have had a chip on his shoulder because he never got another chance.

  • One more friendly bump with an less than an hour and a half left, it's at just over $100... Still an awesome deal, imo, considering the rarity!

For your sake I hope that was not an accurate statement, as it sold for $133.56. If it really is worth $500.00, somebody got an unreal deal.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • I had $15 invested in the ball and got it through the mail. I'm okay with $133. Of course, would have liked a lot more, but I am okay with it.

I was not familiar with the auto at all. Do most of them sell for $500.00 as you mentioned?

  • A receipt sold for $500 a few years ago, I've seen three index cards sell in the last couple years for 125-300 range. They're just not out there! I was happy after the fact that I knew the winning bidder and know it's going to the best baseball autograph collection I know of image
