Why would anyone pay $$$ for a card with a reverse like this?

What am I missing? It's not low pop.

The last couple 9s have sold in the $520-540 range, so nothing out of line that I can see. I would expect this one to go for a discount with that back, but probably still goes to $475-500.

    That's some evil centering.

often questioned grading of the back or lack there of. there was a 73 rose psa 10 that had a similar back. a real head scratcher. I have 3 nines and all of them blow that one away....the price dropped several times and significantly and eventually listed without the back even showing.

not sure if it ever sold.

Honestly, for me, as long as the front looks great and the back is all there I don't really care if the back is OC. But that's just me.

I don't see how that fits the 90/10 centering standards for PSA 9?

Was it the fisheyes, minor focus issue or Pete in general? image

I have seen the term "fish eyes" used quite a bit on this board. Can someone please define?

Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.

on the Rose look next to the second E in Pete image And either the registration/focus is slightly off (name has yellow outline bleed through, color imperfections around the framing also), or possibly a cheaper scanner or low res pic caused that look.

If I were to pay that much for a late 70s card I would want no fisheyes and great centering back....to me that's a $20 card
