Crossover Thread

I have been searching EBay and many of the better examples (centering wise based on scans) are in other company holders. I searched the forum and have seen several threads but was hoping we could have one thread where we post potential candidates as well as results of crossover attempts.

Here is one I just picked up for my Post War HOF RC sets. I will put a new scan up once I receive it back from PSA.

Anyone have a lot of success with crossing over?

I think you will find most of us have had the same experience, which is very rarely getting an equivalent crossover grade. Personally, I have never had one crossover. Your best bet would be to crack it open and submit it raw

Are you cracking or simply sending in for a review? That looks like a strong PSA 5 and maybe a 5.5/6 with some luck.
  • I will probably just send it in as is and have it crossed with any numerical grade. I want the uniformity but on this one I really just bought it for the centering. I'm eyeing several more for my set right now that are sitting in non PSA holders. Let me know if anyone else is wanting to join in on a large bulk crossover submission.

  • TBP - How did you fare on the SGC crossovers? On a side note, congrats on 100% on Post War HOF rc set! My goal is to be there by 1/8/19 when I turn 40.

I purchased a SGC 96 1988 Fleer John Stockton on ebay for a steal. The guy even included a raw 1988 Fleer Pippen. Cracked the Stockton and submitted it to PSA along with the Pippen. The Stockton came back a 9, the Pippen came back a 7.
  • It's perfect timing that this thread pops up. There is a SGC 88 Maravich on eBay now that I'm bidding on because of the centering. There are 2 PSA 9s on there now, but with worse centering. If I happen to win this one I'd be interested in joining a bulk crossover submission, as long a I can only send in 1 card.

Thank you for your kind words. I've been working on the set for about 10 years now and am very proud of it.

I've only tried a handful of crossovers, but they've been lower end stuff. not sure how much of a factor that plays into it all.

Cracked it from SGC 10 and got into PSA 10 for uniformity of my Donnies, so it does happen...
