    Did you make them yourself?

What qualities do the MS67s have?

I put in my notes that they were both sharply struck with lots of luster. The 94-D in my opinion was the nicer of the two. They both have some scattered tiny ticks but apparently not enough for PCGS to downgrade to 66. The graders seem to place a lot of importance on strike, for example the 89 90 and 91 Kennedys mostly have a "mushy" or weak strike and the population figures for these dates in 67 reflect this. Starting in 92, the mint must have either reengraved the dies or began using more striking pressure. Both of these coins look kind of "washed out" in the images, actually they are both quite flashy. Hope this helped.

What are the signs of a weak strike on Kennedies, like what specific areas? Your help is greatly appreciated.image

I look for sharp clean fields especially around the lettering near the rims, both sides. "Trust" not fading away as it nears the rim. On the early Kennedys, say up to about 1985 or so, you can look at the shield on the reverse. The top section of the shield blends in with the bars below on weakly struck specimens. High raised rims on both sides mean a strong strike. Generally, all the details of the design are present and sharp. Just gotta look at a lot of Kennedys!
  • A weak strike on a Kennedy the coins minted before 1990 the hair detail will appear "flat', you might have great detail on the coin in the shield, lettering and overall strike, but the hair detail seems to be flat. Very common on the 1983 P and many other years...... The dies were reworked and very noticable on the 1990 but shows thru on the 1991 and on.....

The reason I'm asking is because I have a nice 1990-D Kennedy that I'm thinking about getting graded. It has full hair detail.
