What Unopened Cellos with a Star on Top Would You Want to Own?

With the major pack we've all been discussing that was listed on eBay, I thought it might be interesting to see

I'd take the Rose no doubt but the ultimate "Holy Grail" would be a 52 Topps wax Mantle showing.

There is a '67 Mantle floating around, which I believe is courtesy of Mr. Jose. If it were real I'd like that one.

Any '54 cellos out there? Gimme a Banks on top! Otherwise, Petey for sure.

Nolan Ryan. And preferably one that has been authenticated twice.

    For me...

    57 Drysdale
    59 Gibson
    60 McCovey

But there wasn't really a bad option on that list.
52-90 All Sports, Mostly Topps, Mostly HOF, and some assorted wax.

I would like to own a 1960 cello with Yaz RC on top..... For about 1 minute, then I would rip it. Because what good is owning the card if it's all wrapped up like that??

    1971 Topps Thurman Munson
    1978 Topps Reggie Jackson
    1984 Topps Don Mattingly

My list is obviously not based on value. They are simply the top three that I would really like to own. I may even set a small goal to own them, now that this thread has been created. image

I would love to have a nice tight, well-centered 1980 Henderson cello for my collection! That would be a nice addition for sure. If I couldn't find one of those than a Nolan Ryan cello from the same year would suffice. I love his action shot from that year. Classic stuff all around.

Remember seeing this Cello in an old Legendary Auctions offering. The outer bag is a team bag I believe. How's this for a holy grail cello pack….

This same auction also included a 1955 cello pack with Koufax on top.

'71 Munson (my favorite card) - with a Nolan Ryan on the bottom, of course ;-)
    '69 Reggie
    '73 Schmidt

Trying to be somewhat realistic minus the N.Ryan comment. A N.Ryan/Bench '68 combo in a rack pack would be insane but unless you have fancy machinery at home that would never happen.

That "Sandy" Koufax cello pack is incredible.

Not sure if I have this correct, but I had thought that Topps first produced baseball cellos in 1957 (and racks in 1960).

Anyone have any knowledge beyond this?

I know Topps cello go back to 1953. I don't believe they made any in 1952.

Here are a couple 1953 cellos that were sold by Legendary a while back..

And a partial box, also auctioned off by Legendary..

I'm not sure, but I think Pepe Le Pew made his debut in '52. Of course, it's never too late for 1952 Christmas Cello's to appear…

Now where have I seen that guy in the middle before? imageimage

I'm not big into stars showing on top of cellos for some reason, but I wouldn't mind having a 1976 Topps Walter Payton one. Pretty common compared to some of the others in this thread.
