The N9 Was another griffey donruss cello pack, as the PSA 8 grade.....same case. Card too thick???

All those Chippers including the IROD came from the same sealed case. And below was from my last sub, also the same sealed case.

Not sure if they have approved the new holders yet but they were not slabbing wax packs in which gum is loose or broken.

  • They had the same new policy for the last sub. And the gum in those packs were extremely tight. Same as the IROD pack. In fact I remember the gum being stuck to the card in almost every pack. Don't understand the griffey either...oh well. Stinks!!

Would the gum shifting around trigger a N4 grade?

I would think they would treat it like a MIN SIZE where no charge is billed.

No charge if it's due to gum. If it's quest auth there is a charge.

  • Wait so I am going to have to pay for those 5 packs when the others from the same case were graded?? Ohhhh heck no!

Only if it's quest auth. Unfortunately, PSA has no way to verify your claim and Steve will not approve a pack he has doubts about.

  • Well then I question this process. My last sub had 4 packs and was my first go at subbing packs to test out. I pulled 6 of those bowman packs with chipper on the back and the one IROD from the same sealed case. The chipper that was from my last sub that was authenticated and graded a 9 was one of those 6. And of course the IROD got authenticated & graded. So therefore I question how those 5 were not since the same person is doing the authenticating!

Steve evaluates each pack individually. I understand what you're saying, and can empathize, but imagine if people could call and make claims to get rejected packs into holders. Not saying you are saying anything wrong, but the process is what it is.

Not being overly familiar with the series, is it possible that in the process of trying to see what the back card was, that folds or rollers could have been compromised enough to cause question?

6 Chipper backed packs out of a case is nice, regardless.

  • Grote, I know, your right and I am not going to pick up the phone and start taking my argument out on somebody, that's not who I am. However, I do know these packs are authentic and the fact that one of those chippers and IRods was authenticated & graded and the others were not means this is inconsistent and I am paying for it. It also means last time I will ever sub packs. But worst of all means a couple of Chipper fans that are friends are not getting their very cool Chipper bday presents image

Vintage fun, these bowman packs are sealed very tight and easily noticeable if tampered with. However, they have a little window that is clear on the back. That year the rookies did not have stat information on the back yet the players name and a short story. In all of these windows you can clearly see Chipper written as was with Ivan Rodriguez. Hence why IRod and the other chipper were graded. So why Steve did not authenticate these from the same case I do not know. But yes either way very cool but not so cool that now they cannot be capsuled. And unfortunately I sold my other Chipper that got graded which was the first of its kind. I thought these would get graded. Big Bummer!

Sorry to see your results. Please post some pack back scans when you receive the packs back. I still think the gum may have gotten you too so I'd double check on that and let us know too.
