UPS just dropped this off...

Been waiting for this one for a while. Interesting timing given the other thread going on today. This box includes my two 79 wax racks from the group break a couple of weeks back. They got held up because I decided to add a little something to the order...

  • When I saw this post on FB, I immediately emailed Steve to ask about the 1975 racks.

  • Here they are out of the bubble. All 4 of the 75s don't have the header card punched and there's a nice selection of HOFers showing. One has Catfish on top - Joe Morgan on back, Nolan Ryan No-hitter card #7 on the back of another, and Wille Mays/Yogi Berra 54 MVP on the top of another one. These are are super sharp and the centering is pretty solid on all but a couple of the cells.

And of course the 79s were in there as well.

    Nice haul, Ryan!

I picked up the 73 rack from that pic and will open the box maybe tonight. image

Nothing like a box filled with vintage unopened!

Good thing you don't collect 1974 racks Ryan. image

How about ripping just one of the '75 racks for the heck of it?

Eh, it's not like the racks are FASC or anything...

  • One of these has no hof players showing... Centering looks pretty good... Hmmm

Good luck, may the centering gods smile upon you.

Not the 73~I've been looking for a series 1/2 rack for a long time!

But if I were Ryan, I'd try one of the 75 racks. image

  • I'm seriously considering busting open one of these. Maybe I can get a little help with potential sequencing on the pack I'm considering.

Nothing jumps out there, but sequencing only runs a few cards deep in most cases, and can jump around, too, so I would go with a rack that has well-centered cards.

Nice stuff, Ryan. 1975 Topps holds a special place in my heart. I built a set starting with 2 vending boxes. Wish I could go back and get a few more of those babies (at $5 each).
