Bench bumped!!!

Ok...not sure how many of you review. Well over the past year or so I've bought some cards that I thought could bump in a review. First review included some great cards including a Nolan Ryan 8 and a Johnny Bench 8. 8 cards total. Although 7 of the 8 stayed the same, the Bench bumped to an 8.5 and I'm ecstatic!!! I've never had success with submitting to PSA...this to me was success...can't wait to get my cards back and the new slabbed Bench. Was hoping to marry up the 8.5 Seaver with a ryan 8.5 but this is still very cool. Thx for reading.

Thx, it's such a stupid crazy feeling of validation as I've always been the dude that thinks his cards are better than what they come back...so ecstatic..I know I've got to be a complete need for being this excited.

Congrats. I assume you are talking about a '68? What's an 8.5 go for?
    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Yes...not sure the value...I bought it for 300 in an 8 about 6 months ago...pop report percentage goes down significantly at 8.5. Fun

Thanks. Makes me feel like I can do it again. Just did the math, puts my Bench from top 19% to top 4%. I highly recommend people try the review if they really think they have a shot. Nice thing about it, is you wont go down, and you can ask for a brand new holder as well. Good risk/reward value.

So I said I would send a scan of my Bench that got bumped to an 8.5. I did not send in the Seaver or Carew as I'm confident in those grades but I did think the Ryan had a shot and frankly think the Ryan is nicer than the Bench. I'll take it though. Always looking to upgrade my HOF rc collection!!! Can't wait for the 2015 National!!!

Spectacular grouping of cards. I have three of the four (Matt C is holding my Ryan for me). Thanks for sharing these pics, I love looking at others cards.

Seems like it's getting harder and harder to find nice examples of these cards. I'd like to consider upgrading along with some other hofers but tough to find. I still think my Ryan is nicer than an 8...grrrrrrrr.

  • Great looking bunch of cards. Thank you very much for sharing. Even if not in a higher numerical holder, if you were ever wanting to sell, people like those on this board are willing to pay premium for the higher end card so not all is lost.

Did you send it in the slab or crack it out? The Seaver looks great.

    Thanks,

Thanks. I bought the seaver and the carew awhile ago with their given grade. I sent in for review the ryan and bench 2 weeks ago along with some others...the ryan I was really hoping to get the bump. The bench is was surprised got the bump, so what do I know. If I had the guts to crack out the Ryan I would...but what's the point as it's really just for my PC at this point in time. I just feel fortunate to have these beauties, nothing much more to say...thanks for looking...I'll be doing some display pics of my PC probably next week.

The seaver is pretty nice but the back corner has a touch of wear so I'm not thinking it would ever get a 9
