Does it bother anyone else when boxes are certified/wrapped that you have no idea of the packs' condition? Or does Steve make a note of any serious issues in that regard?

It concerns me a bit, but I can't think of a way to have access to the packs and leave them sealed in the box at the same time.

Dave, I was thinking the exact same thing--if I'm going to shell out 65k for a box (or even 6k for that matter), I'd at least like to see some pics of the packs (front and back) before they were put back into the box and the box was wrapped. Wouldnt this enter into the seller's mind, to maybe take even just a couple pics of some of the packs?? Seems like such a waste to seal something like this up for all eternity and you dont even know what the packs look like (unless of course the buyer plans to open it).

I personally would want to see the packs inside but if you want to preserve the value of the box, you best keep it shrinkwrapped.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
A thread about it was posted right after it was listed a while back. At the time, the price (50K) seemed rather exorbitant, but after the BBCE sealed case sold for 48K here on CU last weekend, I suppose that is no longer the case, lol..

I would too, Tim.
It would be worth a trip to BBCE to let Steve open it up so I could see the packs, then seal it back again.
I wouldn't think he would charge 5% for that.

John, this exactly what I was thinking but you beat me to the punch so to speak. If it were me though, I'd want to personally see the packs too. So for that kind of money, I'd take a weekend trip to BBCE and personally see the unwrapping and re-wrapping.
Btw, I personally saw this box at the National (he was behind Kruk's booth) and it looked better in person imho. He also had a 1962 and 1967 Topps Baseball wax box iirc.

Best part about that is that's at least the third time he's made the same listing mistake. There's two sold ones with the same mistake, too.

Yeah, and he has a '53 Bowman Color cello pack too.
Still though, $19,500.00 might be okay, but that $4.95
shipping...
...I just don't know.
