Couple questions regarding Steve authenticating boxes

I have a couple of boxes that I would like Steve (BBCE) to wrap. One is a 1985 Topps football wax that I bought opened and full. The other is a 1981 Football wax that I built primarily through packs I bought from BBCE.
1. Assuming Steve makes sure each and every pack is authentic and untampered, would he automatically put a black mark across the top if he can tell the box was built from various packs? Would he even wrap this product?
2. If he determined that 1 or more packs had been altered, would he inform you before shipping back? This way you could possibly buy from him to complete the box.
Just curious as I have never taken advantage of this service before. Thanks again, Tom

Thanks.
<< <i>About how much does it cost for him to authenticate each box and wrap it? I've got a few boxes I wouldn't mind getting looked at.
Thanks. >>
5% of the value of the box plus shipping.

<< <i>FYI on the "black mark" you will see on wax and cello boxes: This is not synonomous with a box that was pieced together. I think there is a misperception about these "x out" boxes. These were returned to Topps and Topps then put the black mark on them so they could not be returned a second time. In many instances, dealers would return full, unopened cases and Topps would then open the case, pull out each box and mark them with an X or a line…repack the case and reseal it…factory sealed. While not as visually appealing, they're just as likely to be full original boxes as the non x outs are. >>
Webb is correct. Unless a non-x-out is from a sealed case, there is no way to know if a box is original and intact. In many cases, an owner of an X-out box will simply purchase a clean box and replace it, if not put the box together.
