1975 topps #500 nolan ryan psa 8 question

I have been looking at a few auctions lately of 1975 topps Nolan ryan psa 8 prices on ebay. why are his psa 8 going for 150.00 or more recently. is it a hard card to find in psa 8 grade. I have all of the hall of famers other then brett and yount in psa 8 grade in psa 7 grade. I would like to have a ryan but if anyone have a reason why in the last three months have the ryans gone up so much.

    They are usually OC or tilted. It is arguably the third key card to a hugely popular set, after the Brett and Yount. Not to mention its aesthetic beauty and demand from Ryan collectors. All these factors likely contribute to it rising in an overall rising market. Also, and perhaps most importantly, with 9s being so expensive, eye appealing 8s become quite a good value alternative.

    To the OP, one thing you might want to consider is looking for a really sharp 8.5. I feel there is a tremendous amount of value in the 8.5's in general. I recently had a 1975T Mini Ryan bump from 8.5 to 9. In fact the reviews I've had success with have been 8.5's bumping to 9's. And usually I can't tell the difference. You'll get really strong eye appeal at a much more reasonable price. Lot of upside
