Word is Mint had 700 tickets for today. The tickets are numbered
And the numbers stop at 580 which is perhaps 50-60 people ahead of me.
So the question is who got the 120 tickets.

A dealer "silent" auction?
Regardless, the lady said 700 so I thought they were going to do extras today. Got to the front and within 40 of entry and the same lady with the bull horn said the 500 for today are done, line up starts tonight at 7PM...I thought wtf, why'd she say 700 now 500?
As for the ana, hmmm, lets see, who was it that accepted orders for 100's of registrations for blank credentials from multiple dealers? How does that work? I'm curious.

Would it have REALLY mattered since they were only going to give out 500 tickets a day anyway??
It seems to me, that ticket numbers 501-580 would simply have stepped out of line and carried on about their Coin Show business.

...sweet home; Chicago!!!

Yes, they know there are paid line sitters and are going "eh?" but look at the effort to advance mint 40k of these and appear to have the first batch ready to ship in a few days after the first order? (they are responding to complaints and making them more available and available quicker) When has a white hot item ever been out the door of the mint this fast? I even got my sclad sets by the slow boat shipping method already. This is a new record and a new standard of service.
Having known a few of the sales people, they would be offended if something "back door deal" were suggested for those 200. I'm 99.9999% sure there was an administrative decision to make it 700 then another to change it back to 500.
more available to back door deals at the ANA. Sounds like real world business to me.
First, they release less than the maximum.
THEN, they just cancel is all.
Finally, they just sell them, themselves, reimburse the mint's coffers for the retail amount, and pocket the rest.
Heck...if they can't make mules anymore, might as well find another way to profit.....
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
