Will beating the ANA rush help my submission turnaround time?

I sent off my first submission in a few months this week. It should arrive at PCGS tomorrow.

I assured my status as a Kool-Aid drinker as this is my largest submission ever including 81 coins divided into two submissions between the Modern and Economy tier; both of which are showing a 23 day turnaround at present. The Economy submission is a mix of 49 coins from 1950 to 1964 out of which I believe all but 4 or 5 should receive a CAM or DCAM designation and all denominations are represented. The Modern submission includes 32 coins from 1965 to 1970; mostly SMS coins that I believe will receive a CAM/DCAM designation; probably 4 or 5 that will not make the cut; again all denominations are represented.

23 business days from tomorrow lands on my birthday. Here's hoping for a nice present from PCGS next month! I'll be certain to share my joys/sorrows when the grades come in.

If anything, turnaround times will be extended as a result of the commitment of a portion of the grading staff to the A.N.A. show at Rosemont already. The summer A.N.A. convention is probably second only to the F.U.N. show as far as the volume of submissions they will be processing.

Good luck - half the staff is in Chi taking submissions and grading walk throughs until the wee hours of the mornings. When the get back, everyone will take 3-5 days off.

    The answer is not really.

On day 25 (excluding labor day) of waiting for my modern submission while last week's turnaround was shown as 20 days for Modern tier. Has anyone else received modern tier grades back lately? What was the turnaround time?

I had a modern order rec'd on 8/12 and just shipped on 9/10. It was a FS order so I believe it was done slightly quicker than non-FS modern orders. Things are quite slow for modern tier.

They are grading coins at PEAK season rates still, even though this is the slow season. 54K coins in the last week. This will be another record quarter for the company. That doesn't get your coins back to you any sooner, but they certainly aren't just sitting around.
