I'd say that is a rare feat.

The grader would have to miss something pretty drastic. The difference between an 8 and 10 should be easy to see.

If I remember correctly there was a football card that went straight from an 8 to a 10.

There was a 1950's baseball card that went from an 8 to a 10 and sold for 100 fold more.

I was bothered by it. I don't think a card that is graded an 8 should ever be in contention for a grade of a 10.

Bob, I was fortunate enough to get a bump when I submitted my 1972 Carlton Fisk rookie which was a PSA 8 and it came back a 9. This was at the 2010 National.

Was this the infamous Art Shell card?

    Thanks,

Pretty sure that's the very one Ralph was referring to.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

I recall that Nick (nam812) had a 1966 Topps card (at least, I think it was a 66 Topps card) bump from PSA 7 to PSA 10, but that was a crackout.

That's a Jesus bump (water into wine) if there ever was one!

I just looked back and stand corrected. It was a 72 Topps #400 Tony Oliva card that bumped from PSA 8.5 to PSA 10. Still impressive, but not as dramatic as what I thought, LOL..

I had a 1976 Doc Medich go from PSA 7 to PSA 10 on a crackout, but have never tried to bump a card twice on review.

IIRC, it was from one of Gaspipe's lots.

    What's a bigger gaffe, a card that goes from a 7 to a 10, or a card that goes from EOT to a 10?

I had two 1965 topps commons that I purchased on ebay raw come back as EOT. I sent them both back in and got PSA 10's on both. Each was a POP 3. True story....
