2014 Cleveland National

First attending a National is not only about hunting for hidden treasures amongst the sea of cards. For me it has become an opportunity to develop lifelong friendships with people that share the same fascination for small pieces of cardboard. Thank you to Dustin and Eric for letting me stay in the Cheese Shack(hotel situation is a long drawn out novel better written by Eric). Also want to thank Dan(tips for negotiating with JP helped tremendously on the Ruth), Mark(yardbird aka Cincyredlegs), CpaMike and wife, Mknez, Curt, Tyler, Tim, Logan(best dressed man in the room), BBCE(Reed and Steve), Nathan, Dave, Chris, Jim and countless others. This National I was able to meet Dwight Gooden, Dale Murphy, Kenny Lofton, Mark Aguirre, Cal Ripken and Brooks Robinson.....and did not have to pay for a single auto....I continue to be lucky in airports. Finally, got to meet my good friend Steve Grad and talk about autos. Joe Orlando now calls me Joe Namath(long story that Grad could tell).

PS- Thank you to Evan for the receipt it was a huge hit and everyone loved the Masterpiece "work of Art"

Kirk, always great catching up with you. Looks like a successful show for you again as you worked your magic. Looking forward to Chicago already.

Btw, I love your Mickey Mantle case.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Yes had a very interesting conversation with him concerning the game and "cheating" on all aspects.

Who's the dude in the pic with lofton?
  • I've seen Lofton a couple times in Tucson at the barbershop.
He's almost 50 and still looks the same as when he played for Arizona.
  • Was the mantle case sold like that

Honestly, I was expecting a picture of Bear Bryant over your desk. Anything less would be heresy, no?
