Was really great to see a lot of the same guys again this year at the PSA luncheon, the BBCE booth and just bumping into people around the floor. Jeff (and family), Mike, Mike, Dave, Mark, Andy, Dustin, Kirk, Tyler, Paul, Eric. All great guys but once they start geeking out on the unopened, I start to get dizzy. It's all pops and buzzes at that point so I venture down to see which concert tee Levi is wearing. Iron Maiden this time. Solid choice.
Lots of different types of people/characters roaming around. Kind of like Vegas in that regard. Pretty sure I saw Kirk negotiating hard with JP over one of SEVEN Ruth RCs on display. Hopefully he got one. Did anybody ever arm wrestle Rick?
I had a combination of pickups, upgrade, and bumpage.
Picked up a couple of items. Nicest Brock I've ever seen (thanks Jeff) plus I love the 62 design. Also really love the Rose 2nd year 64 Topps and saw this one, I decided to splurge. And the 51 Mantle presents extremely well for the grade IMHO. So clear, bright and vibrant with great centering and very strong corners. These are the kind of beauties Card Country (Jeff) carries. Really excited about each of these and hope to keep them around for a long time.
1962 Brock RC:
1964 Rose:
1951 Bowman Mantle RC:
[
And maybe the best thing after that tasty convention hall semi-heated cheese pizza was this Clemente bumpage.
Also, my previous Rose RC had l/r centering that wasn't as strong as most other 9s, so I wanted to swap that out for one that was truly high end for the grade. Enter card country. Thanks again Jeff for the beautiful Rose RC.
Great seeing you all again and look forward to next year. CPAMike is promising to wear his pocket protector and bring along his HP 17Bii to help us all understand the 3 year CAGR of 75 Topps Mini Box prices.

Thx

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Funny you should mention pocket protectors as I'll need to borrow yours as I don't have one. Nor do I wear shirts with pockets come to think of it.
But I have promises to keep,

Not sure there's a consistent answer to that question. A strong rc card is going to get a strong price no matter where it is offered. Lots of overpriced stuff at the natty, but the same applies to ebay.

The new pickups were just amazing, as we have become accustomed to when your master's eye searches out onlt the best-of-the-best. Your timing
was good too, as I was on my way to Jeff and was going to have a difficult time not pulling the trigger on one of those beautis your scored from him.
As always, it was great to share some time with you. Looking forward to our next encounter.
Dave
<< <i>Like, wow. What a show for you. And it was great meeting you Dan, as briefly as it was... >>
Don't worry, you would have been disappointed if you spent anymore time talking to him.

That especially stings coming from an accountant.
