Went to my local monthly card show - always a sad affair, 30 tables or so - same 6 or 7 dealers... but hey, what else am I going to on a Saturday before football season?
Anyway, here goes:
Some stuff for my personal collection:
Some off condition vintage of Alex Grammas and Gran Hamner (two Mississippi State guys), couldn't pass 'em up at a buck each:
A couple off-condition, but neat 56s:
I bought some stuff from cheapo boxes for resale purposes (between $1-3 mostly - the Dalton and Elway were the most expensive at $5):
Boneheaded decision of the day: One dealer had a bunch of Topps Heritage and Bowman Heritage boxes for $50 each. I know he had 2005 and 2006 Topps Heritage, and 2002 and 2003 Bowman Heritage, plus a couple other years. The angel and devil sat atop my shoulder and discussed for a while the merits of what seemed like a REALLY good price, but did I REALLY need to buy them, etc. Long story short - the angel won, and I didn't buy them. Then I got home and saw what sealed boxes sell for. Whoops! I'm sure they won't be there next month.
Good decision of the day: I stopped at Wal-Mart to buy some 2 cycle oil. They had two 2011 Topps Update rack packs in the clearance bin for $2.98, so I bought both of them, and pulled this:
