PSA vs O-Pee-Chee White/Gray Backs

I find an old post about 1981 OPC Baseball and that PSA is finally labeling the differences. This was the last post to the thread with no reply, I would like to dig it up.

<< <i>Just curious - does anyone have the story about why PSA wouldn't distinguish greybacks before, or why they changed their mind?
To the best of my knowledge, PSA won't distinguish greybacks for 1973 hockey (a much more prominent OPC) set.
Just curious how one(s) got PSA to recognize these as distinct variations? >>

As a hockey collector and set registry collector, I have tried a while back to get PSA to distinguish the the two versions (in the 73 Hockey), but have had no luck. I believe I only sent in a Missing Cert on the registry page, and really didn't push the issue, but now I might like to.

Would like to hear from the Board.

Thanks

ps PSA recently added the 1956 Topps BB White/Gray variation to one a set I collect.

With enough collector pressure, they'll grade just about anything.
