Chrome & Refractors

Well, chrome and refractors have finally invaded the world of Wacky Packages. And I must say I hate it. I'm trying to put aside my penchant for nostalgia and look at these things from a purely esthetic perspective...and I still hate 'em! Geez, these refractors look like the card is covered with grimy fingerprints! Can someone who likes these explain why?

but regular refractors i really like - it's about the only thing i'm collecting right now
i just like the way the light reflects through them to give the rainbow effect - makes the cards look brighter

+1 for the non cracked ice refractors being very nice. You picked the unfortunate looking refractor. The regular refractor and the various colored refractors are pretty cool looking and fun to collect IMO.

Regular Refractors (and some of their parallels) are pretty nice. But, as hobby manufacturers have done time and time again, they took a popular concept and beat it into the ground.
