The 1901-S is really a tough coin in BU, but its price has actually been decreasing over the past 10 years. I own a blazing MS64 that I've tried once for MS65, and might try again at some point. Nice job on the "freebie"!
Do you know where or what they were stored in to give them this kind of toning? Does the entire lot have this patina?

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set: 1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S. Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

Excuse me for being critical but I have never personally considered toning critical. Other than that I agree with you that when coins are in a bag they typical come in contact with each other
