Pcgs reconsideration and pcgs crossover

Has anyone had any luck using the pcgs reconsideration feature? Especially while submitting a rattler - just curious

On a side note has anyone here taken advantage of the quarterly crossover special? In particular with the early ngc holders with brown labels?

I had recent success with a reconsideration of a rattler. If you do a search, you will find the info. I sent in yesterday 5 coins for reconsideration under the quarterly special. 3 were older NGC holders, 2 were new NGC holders. For 2 of them, I requested crossover at grade. For 3 others, I requested crossover at 1 grade lower. You have to judge the individual coin to see if it will cross-over. 1 is a lock, 1 is a probable, 1 is a maybe, and 1-2 are probably not. Personally, if I am successful on 2-3 of the 5 coins, I will be happy. Normally my personal crossover rate is quite high, about 85%, given that I think I can grade and that I sometimes request crossover at a lower grade. However, in this instance, and because of the special, I am reaching a bit. Give it a shot.

I recently sent in 27 coins for reconsideration. Of the 27, only 2 came back upgraded. The only 2 that did upgrade where in rattler holders. In the same package was 7 NGC holders for crossover. I had 5 cross. 5 of 7 is not bad. 2 of 27 looks like wasted money and time. Live and learn. I blame myself for the poor results more than I "blame" PCGS. Since I had better luck on the crossovers, I am thinking about sending 5 or so NGC coins in to take advantage of the quarterly crossover special. My question is whether I would rather have an NGC 64 DPL Morgan with a green bug or a PCGS 64 DMPL without a green bug. Go Hogs
