Newest additions-- unopened rack packs

As a collector of unopened, rack packs have always been my favorite. As a board member, pics of other collectors' new additions and/or unopened displays are my favorite to look at. And since I haven't been able to start my own thread (of my collection and recent pick-ups) due to most of it being stored away... I thought I'd share some of my recent pickups. Most of the racks came from Steve @ BBCE, but a couple others came from fellow collectors. Some pretty nice star power showing on some of these (especially since no premium was paid for the star packs)...

I have a few 79 racks with Cecil Cooper on front, not sure why I like them so much image

Elway was always my favorite QB growing up, despite being a Bears fan

Thanks for looking, and feel free to post some of your recent unopened additions.

Cooper is on the right track (half of the time at least)...hopefully centering gods are a bit more lenient than they were on poor Cecil. image

Nice racks! Especially like the 85 Elway!

Yeah, that centering worried me a little... and there are a couple more low centered (nearly miscut) cards in that cell, but not in a troubling spot. It was a good price, so I took a chance... figured if I ever talked myself into ripping something, this might be the pack.

    Very nice racks Brad.

BTW, what is BBCEx asking for 79T racks these days?

    I saw a "buy" for 2500! That's over 100 bucks per.

Thanks Mike. The 1979 rack was actually one that didn't come from BBCE... but the last time I bought one from Steve it was around $75 or $80, in mid 2013. I would think he'd be asking at least $100 for them given the prices on his 79 wax and cello. I've been surprised at the prices on 79 Topps recently, but I try to stay in the less than $95 range on those racks depending on who's showing. But that is one of my favorite years, along with '78. I didn't start collecting until the early 80s, but I did get a hand-me-down collection from my future brother-in-law that was primarily those two years... and I instantly fell in love with them.
