What is the best way to remove dirt from silver coins?

Is there any safe way to do so without messing it up? Have a few old indian silver pieces with dirt in the crevices of the design which I would like to remove.

Maybe soaking in acetone would loosen some of it up and not causing harm.

Most Indian silver pieces are not worth a premium so a gentle soak will not harm any value.

However, there are some that are quite rare (think of Moguls, etc) and any "cleaning" would not be good.

Do your research on value before you attempt to clean. I'd leave them just as they are.

Post good pics of front and back over on the World and Ancient coin forum to get any help.
