To answer OP question-- Vaughn

As for Hernandez, his contract was nowhere the amount of Mo or Howard, so not a good comparison. Fielder, is however. Pujols is still productive, just not to his all world levels.

I think Mo had 3 things not in his favor

1. PED's (he was as big as Andre the Giant)

2. Injuries/age was catching up to him

3. Weight. It appeared that at the end he literally ate himself out of the game.

He was old fat and brittle, sure. But are you actually suggesting that somebody as sloppy and obese as Mo was juicing??

How about Joe Mauer? His contract is even worse now that he is an injury prone, weak hitting first baseman instead of an injury prone, weak hitting catcher.
