Ebay tranx offline safe?

If the seller has a good rating, and I do PayPal non gift is there much risk in doing an ebay tranx offline? I would be suggesting it too, not the seller

That should be fine. I do this all of the time myself. As you said, make sure that it is NOT paypal gift. Also accurately describe the purchase in the paypal transaction so if the seller does not deliver the item as stated, then you can log a case with Paypal. For example, use paypal and the option to purchase a good (rather than service). In the title and/or description, put the item being purchased (e.g., 1933 Goudey #53 Babe Ruth PSA 4).
