Yes, if I was dead certain that is nothing but a inventory/dealers sticker I would answer OP but I am not 100% certain and with my luck it will be some strangeness I've not heard of so I am not just repeating stuff for the heck of it.

I think David Lawrence sticks these colored dots on the slab, I have a few coins with these on the reverse of the holder.

Most likely it is an inventory/pricing sticker. We can not know for sure without a better description or some pics. Don't give up posting just let the negativity and jokes roll off just like the guy in the pic is going to do and you will be fine.

Bottom line---If the sticker is on the inside of the slab, it is part of the slab and was put there by the grading service and if it's on the outside of the slab, it was put there by someone else and could mean anything.

The only red dot I know is from CAC.
When the coin doesn't sticker, they may add an explanation.
This is a 64RD, CAC suggested a 65RB.

Several respondents here have had some fun poking a bit of good natured, tongue-in-cheek humor at the OP, but if I may, I would like to attempt to bring this back to a more serious numismatic discussion. The OP, Eddiego, is a relatively new member of the CU Forum, but while he may be new to this forum, he is by no means new to the hobby. Eddiego is a member of our local (Maine) coin club, and has been actively collecting coins since the 1950's. He is an earnest and enthusiastic contributor both at our coin club and on this forum. The only things 'new' to him are the newer elements of the hobby, e.g, TPGs, slabbing, computers, and the Internet. He has asked some good questions for which he seeks answers, and deserves the respect and collective knowledge that this forum has demonstrated it can give. I acknowledge that pictures of the 'red dot' he refers to would help, but rather than hijack his OP to make jokes or express opinions on what is or is not politically correct, take this opportunity to offer constructive comments, like those offered by MagicBilly, ElmerFusterpuck, and PerryHall. No matter how knowledgeable each of may be (or thinks he is), we all had to learn somewhere.

I believe the OP is asking about a small
Red Dot sticker, 1/2 inch round size.

It's used internally by PCGS - although I
don't know the reason(s) for them, they're
for some type of in-house identification purpose.

I have a roll or two of them; they were in
a group of coins delivered to me by a
PCGS Guard.

Once the coin is sealed, examined, and shipped,
I'm fairly certain the dot means nothing.

I've seem a few that seemed to have dealers price codes on the back of the slabs over the halogram. At least that is what I assumed before removing them for imaging usually.

If this is a question about coins from DLRC ... I've also seen them use blue and yellow. No idea what these little business dot stickers signify. It would be interesting to know. Maybe it's internal code for what type of consignment, if you can deal on the coin, etc?

Sounds like Bob and Trixie

A dealer couple who sets up at shows. Bob puts red or blue dots on backs of coins. These instruct Trixie what to sell them for when Bob is away from the table. Red means get rid of at CDN Ask. Blue means keeper coins - Sell at CW Trends after deducting $1-$5 (coins over $100) discount and saying "this is $5 over what we have in it." She is real personable and convincing and many of them have gone for this. At one big show Bob was amazed at how many coins she sold. He calls it the "Trixie pitch play."

I have seen the 1/4 inch size red dots on the holders and they were for a pricing indication via the dealer. ...........Then of course "is that frowned upon around here, I really think I am in a grey area with this"

Yes, you may be right Fred. And then there are the stickers that get placed on the end of the blue boxes. (Don't recall if they are round and too lazy to get one out & look.)

I have bought coins from DLRC and others who use colored dots
for their internal purposes. It means nothing having a Red Dot on
any TPG holder.

As a matter of fact, when it buy a non CAC coin, I place a small green
dot on it ( keys me at a later date to submit it to CAC ). If the coin does
not CAC, I place a red dot with an X on the slab; keeps me from submitting
the same coin twice ( although a friend does submit twice and has a 33%
acceptance quotient on previously non CAC coins.) As many have said, it's
all an opinion. Maybe one of these days, I'll box up all my non CAC coins and
resubmit, just to see what happens.
